About the Nor-Well Program

The Nor-Well Exercise and Whole Person Wellness Program, patterned after the CanWell Program of Ontario Health Services, is for patients diagnosed with cancer at any stage of their treatment. In the Nor-Well program, participants enjoy a supervised exercise program extending over twelve weeks, consisting of three sessions per week. Participants benefit from a wholistic, person-centered approach as well as services of a Kinesiologist, Physical Therapists, and a Physician who will complete an evaluation of one's exercise capabilities and capacity. Individuals qualifying for participation may be referred by their physician or other healthcare professional, or may self-refer with the consent and approval of their physician and oncologist.

The program schedules supervised blocks of time in the Whole Person Wellness Center at Norwood Crossing and is designed to meet an individual's exercise evaluation and capacity; participants receive physical therapy, fitness center exercises, and activities such as yoga or Tai Chi.
